Q: Pre-existing Condition Clause In Illinois

We did not have health insurance for the last 3 years. Now we do, but the insurance company does not want to pay claims due to the pre-existing condition clause.

Is there anyway around this? We can't afford to pay the medical bills and it doesn't seem fair that we are being punished for not having insurance prior to april 2006.

I am going through somthing similar-i have just gotten the news I have heart problems but my insurance has stopped payment on all my medical bills "pre-exisitng conditions" luckily I had insurance before them and my new insurance has only a six month clause in which the pre-exisitng condition can not have been treated-i have neither and still they are dragging their feet...Sham on them. Do you have a pre-existing condition?? It's so hard when you go without insurance since there is no records-insurance companies can become pure evil..I know!!!

Pre-existing Conditions With Health Insurance
If your insurance company is not covering really expensive bills, you may consider one of the discount health care plans. They do not exclude anyone, and they provide discounts at thousands of providers nationwide. They cost far less than health insurance, leaving you the extra money to pay the reduced bills.
