Past Bone Graph In Maxilla/sinus Concern Posted: 10-30-06 16:29pm
I have not been feeling well for a couple
of years now. Nothing to pinpoint - lots
of aches and pains, periods of extreme
fatigue, some passing pain in site of
implant (#14) (which was replaced - crown
only about a year later by a different
dds, due to discomfort of it's fit),
lethargy, joint pain, chest pain.
I am 42 years old; am not currently
experiencing depression (though I did when
I felt my worst - catch-22 - depression
leading to fatigue - lack of health
leading to depression)
i am in overall good health. Stay in
touch with my primary care doc and make
all routine appointments - inculding
dental.
My fear is that all the inexplicable
symptoms I have been having may be due to
inferior dental graft material.
My implant allegedly needed the graft
since my sinuses didn't have enough bone
in them to support an implant.
There had been a major bust on the issue
of tainted graft material lately; and two
or three of the negligable companies
supplying the material are located in
proximity to where I received my
implant.
I understand hepatitis c, hiv, hpv, and
syphilis have been connected to tainted
implants. Are there any other noted
illnesses or general malaise complaints as
well? How would I ever find out if I had
tainted graft material?
The next fear is getting the graft
removed! Oh my! How extensive is that
surgery? Would I lose my face? Could my
bite be saved with a bridge? Could I have
the back tooth moved forward to support
the one in front of the lost tooth?
I did ask my new dentist if he thought it
possible for me to have received bad
grafting and he kindly told me that I was
fine. It still nags at the back of my
mind....
