Early Waking

Anyone got any tips on how to make your child sleep in later in the mornings? My son is 19 months old and wakes me up at 4:45am every day! Until a few weeks ago he was sleeping from 7pm til 7am and it was brilliant but for some reason he's now waking earlier and he's knackered and miserable and so am i!

I've tried giving him extra food in the evening in case he's waking up hungry and i've also tried limiting his nap in the day to only about 45 mins (he would do 2 hours if allowed!) but to no avail!

Any suggestions? Right now, I could go shopping with the bags under my eyes Laughing

Omg 4:45am thats way too early yuck lol

um I dunno if you do this already but cos hes in nappies still right? You could go in his room before you go to bed at like 11pm ish? And put a clean one on him, cos he might be waking up early too wet and uncomfortable to get back to sleep in that old nappy. Plus it can make them cold aswell and its hard to sleep if you're cold.

If you already do that...I guess try cutting out his sleep in the daytime completely, but he'll probably be bad tempered the rest of the day...Or bring it forward so he naps earlier, then he's got longer to get tired before bedtime at night?

Its weird hes suddenly doing this when he used to sleep 7-7, is there anything that could be waking him up noise wise?

God I am having a similar problem. Logan woke up at 5.30 this morning. It doesn't help that the clocks have gone back for an hour cause now he's all confused Confused

It may sound cruel but don't let him go to bed til later. Whatever time he usually goes to bed- make him wait another 2 hours. He will hopefully then be tired enough to sleep in a bit longer.

Aly's sleeping is out of whack too. I think she might be a light sleeper like me, because when she wakes up in the middle of the night for a feeding, she stays awake after, which means *.I* stay awake. And once .I'm awake, .I'm awake for hours.

Every night for the past few nights, .I've woken up at 4am or so, and have finally gone back to sleep around 10am.

Tonight she did it at just past midnight. Confused

I'm so flipping tired... Sad

Eeekkk!! Oh man ladies...I'm sooo sorry yall are going through this!! I know how bad it sucks to be deprived of sleep!!!! You find yourself doing things totally backwards!! Haha!

But, I don't know what the problem could be!! Question

all I can suggest is *sleep when they sleep*....If they nap at 2 in the evening and you're dying of lack of sleep...Knock out with em! I swore by that when .Oni was born!!

She's been sleeping through the night since 5 weeks, but the other night we decided to put her in *our* bed because she was sick. *big* mistake!! She woke up at 5, and was just playing away!! So I took my hair out of my pony and let her pull/play with it! Of course, I slept through it, but my man wasn't havin it!! Hahaha...He was like, man I was up all night with her!! Shocked

man, I hope this passes for yall!!! Good .Luck!!

Wow!!!!!!!!!!! I am so sorry for you guys.....Melia goes to sleep at 10.00 and wakes at about 2 because she is hungry....We feed and go back to sleep until 7. I get her up at 7 to get her ready for work, but on the weekends if I feed her at 7 she will go back to sleep til like 9 or 10. Then we go down for a 2 o-clock nap. It's great. A nap on sunday before work the next day is the best.

I am so happy that I have a good sleeper....For now anyway...(just knocked on wood....I think it's really partical board but it all comes from trees right?)

Don't get me wrong logan usually sleeps fine. They usually both sleep from 8 til 8 but I found out what it is- he has a sore bum! I changed his nappy like I always do and his nappy was almost dry when I changed it this morning so it must be his teeth or something.. Poor darling

Don't rub it in girl.....I know .Oni slept through the night at 5 weeks...

But I emphathize with these ladies, as teething has made her a totally different baby!!

When teething starts, .Melia won't be such a sweet angel!! And it sucksssss!!!

Stock up on the tylenol *now*!!!

Lol....I'm glad you know it'll change.

I dislike those mothers who are in *total* denial about their baba's!!

Oni is cutting her top teeth, and it's heeellllll!!!

But it's cool. She's still as sweet as can be before bedtime!!

I'm right there with out on that. I wouldnt trade 10 million dollars for that moment when you're up at 3.30 tired, stressed, and have to pee and your baba looks up and cracks the biggest grin you've ever seen.....
