What Have I Got? Ibs?
Posted: 10-29-06 07:49am

My story is a long one and it isnt over yet. First 5 years ago I started getting bad indegestion. Took strong antacids for a while, but kept eating normal food *by normal I mean take away food a bit, but not alot* I have a thin to average biuld. Then I started getting diarrhoea. That was coming and going, when I started getting tiredness, rashes and general malnutrition, and went back to the doctor agian. He put me onto even stronger antacids and I started eating healthy. Then I thought I had celiacs disease, as wheat based products seemed to make me ill, so I cut out all bread and cereal. The change in my health was amazing, but then slowly the problems came back. Then I thought I had hole in the gut syndrome, so started cutting out sugar and carbos. This also helped heaps, but the problems soon came back.
So I decided to go to the specialist and really get sorted out. I had so many blood tests and wasted a huge amount of money, only to get issued a diet which was meant to fix me up, which I was basically already on plus and minus just a few things. Bananas are bad? Who'd of thought?
Anyway, he also gave me many suppliments which didnt do anything, and also put me on creon and encouraged me to stop taking antacids.
After battling on anther year, the whole time this disease really taking hold of my whole life, ageing me fast, preventing me from taking part in a normal relationship with a partner, and outcasting me somewhat. About this time I realised stress was really taking its toll. On several camping trips to relaxing destinations, away from work, I really noticed how great I would feel and I could eat normal food again.
I then decided the drugs and suppliments just wernt worth the trouble and dropped the lot and went natural. Eating only fresh foods, no tinned products, no take away, just friut and veges and meat. The only difference is sometimes I have cereal and just a bit of milk.
This helped alot, but now, the problem is coming back again. This time I get all sorts of wierd pains, however, I look and feel healthier.
This is a bit of a summary of this, im sure I could bore you for hours but I wont here, in fact id be amazed if your still reading this now.

So whats wrong with me? What do I do to lead a normal life agian?
Every day I wonder what I can eat that wont make me feel sick. Sometimes I think id be better eating nothing.

I have eggs and ham for breakfast, salad for lunch, or rice bread, and steak/fish and veges for dinner, with small amounts of biscuits for snacks.
I never eat white bread, this gives me incredible abdominal pain.

Cheers

I have had simular symptoms, and it turned out to be colitis. If I were you I would have a endoscopy done to rule out any major stuff.
