Normally I change my patch every friday at 3:30 pm. My third patch, I forgot to take off and took it off saturday morning instead. Then I had my patch-free week, and forgot to put the new one on on friday at 3:30. I remembered and put it on saturday morning. Can I have sex?

no backup contraception is needed
under no circumstances should there be more than a 7-day, patch-free interval between cycles. The risk of ovulation increases with each day after the recommended "patch-free" week. If there are more than 7 patch-free days, you may not be protected from pregnancy and backup contraception, such as condoms, spermicide, or a diaphragm, must be used for 1 week

they will even send you email reminders to change your patch!
