What do you whink fo this... My husband's parents and little brother live in southern ohio and I live in cleveland... Brianne is due end of this month, and he wants to go down to his mother's for christmas... Call me old fashioned, but I think we should be at our own house for brianne's first christmas. Granted, she's only going to be 1 month old, but I think that a first christmas should not be something that you spend out of town.. Now, I have no problem with traveling down there later in the day, but I think that we should be here for christmas morning.... Am I acting ridiculous?

No, you're not ridiculous. Why can't ya'll spend the morning opening gifts at home and then go later? You need to compromise during the holidays.

This .Christmas is going to be *ridiculous*! My family is 3 1/2 hours away, my husband's family is 45 minutes in the opposite direction, the two factions aren't interested in all getting together, and both sides want us there for the holidays with .Aly!

We're going to my family a few days before .Christmas and celebrating early, I think. No way am I spending all day driving with a young baby in the car.

Yeah compermising and christmas go togeather for example I normally see my family but I also wanted some just us time.. So shawn and I will have the morning to just me and him and reese, then we will go to his parents place, see my mom for abit, head down for christmas dinner at my grandparents (my dad and bros will b there) and then on boxing day we will be going to my moms parents for there family get togeather..

So you could always spend the morning togeather and then head down to his parents for dinner or something ( I unno how long of a drive it is thou)

We live in the same city as my family, but his lives 3 hours south. I don't know why his parents can't come visit us... I mean it is so much easier for them to travel than it would be for me and my hubby and bri. I guess it just makes me mad b/c his mother always expects us to come to them... We've lived up north here in cleveland for almost 2 years and she has only visited twice! But we've been down there at least once every 2 months or so.. I think it's insane... My mom is willing to compromise. She said that she doesn't expect us to go out with the new baby... She thinks that if she wants to see the baby, then she should have to come to us! And I agree! In laws... Such pains in the arss
