Q: Bringing Baby Out

When did you start bringing your baby out in public?
My husband's work is having a christmas party for employee's children. There's free food and drinks and the kids get a $25 gift. I have to fill out the paperwork and send it in by this week.
Ava will be about 4-5 weeks old. Is it okay if I take her out that soon?
I might be totally off either way, but I don't know. She's my first.
I'm also scared if I need a section. Will I be okay to go about in public 4-5 weeks after my c-section?
Thanks!

Oh heck yeah, she'll be fine! We had to take .Aly out at four days old, because I needed nursing stuff and my husband was clueless.

And you should be fine going out after your section as soon as you're feeling up to it.

When .I read the subject,
.I sang it to the tune of bringng sexy back..
Lmao.

My good friend is waiting until her son is 6 weeks old to bring him out &about in public. I'm not sure if that's how long you're supposed to wait, or if she's just doing it that way 'cause that's how she wants to do it!

I'd think 4-5 weeks old wouldn't be a huge problem.

i don't know about c-sections. Has ava had her shots? They wouldn't give chu any until he was 6 wks old. I didn't take him around .A.N.Y.O.N.E until he had his shots. But that's just me. Always better to be safe than sorry I say. Plus i'm a weirdo about people touching my baby. I don't want anyone touching him because some people are just sloppy, nasty, dirty f*cks (excuse me but that's how I feel). And I guarantee that those are usually the ones that try to run in and kiss/touch/pick up your baby and it's really exhausting fighting them off.

The party is november 30th, so hopefully she's 4-5 weeks old if she comes soon. I don't know about the whole sitting on santa part, but it's free food, drinks, and a gift. I'd be stupid to pass that up! Lol
i'll just keep her in her infant seat and hopefully she sleeps the whole time, so people don't ask.

I took my daughter to work with me when she was 4 days old. Babies don't need to be 'secluded'. But if you are concerned, ask your doctor what s/he thinks about it.

Think about how many people will be coming to visit in the hospital - how many people will show up at your house the first weeks after she is born. If her immune system is fragile, it might be a concern - but if not, go to the holiday party!

i didn't do it bcuz he hadn't had his shots and my doc advised against taking him out before getting them. I'm a first timer so maybe i'm noided. If everyone else has done it and no adverse effects then maybe i'll try it next time around. It would have been nice to just get out of the house during the first month for something besides doctor visits!

My friends soen was only a week old and she had him out and about going to church etc. Heck I wa sbabysitting him at 3 weeks old and her daughter so she could go out for her bday. Just as long as people aretn wanting to get up in the babies face and touching the baby etc ya know then its fine, u can even buy a carseat cover that has alil hole u zip just to see there face to feel better about going out

I took both my kids out at around a week old. I didn't have a csection though.
I got a cab to an italian restaurant near me (just in case) and wrapped logan up warm. He was born jan 15

layla went back and forth from my house to my hubbys (at time we weren't living together) he took her on a 10 min journey to his house wrapped u well when she was 2 days old.

Don't worry about it baby will be fine! You think in other countries they keep em indoors for weeks? Nope they gotta get on with it.

Its if you feel recovered enough that you should thnk about but alot of celebraties are swanning around a week afer a csection so you might be ok.

I took lucas out for a walk (in his pram) at 6 days old. He was around lots of people at 3 weeks old when I invited lots of old friends round for the day. I agree with what others said, theres no exact time you .M.U.S.T keep your baby inside for, do whatever feels right for you.

My doctor told me not to take .Melia out because she was so small....Well being a single parent that was kinda hard. I toke her out at about 2 weeks old because I needed things. I had a section and I was able to drive at 2 weeks. I started taking her outside at day number 2 because of her jaundice (sp)

it's all up to the parent.
