I've just got back from seeing my midwife.. And this time i'm measuring 3 weeks smaller. So my uterus has only grown a centimetre in the last 3 weeks. Well I wasn't that worried when she said I was 2 weeks smaller last time, because I know 2cm either way is considered normal.. But now i'm 3 weeks smaller.. And the lack of growth is concerning my midwife.

I have a scan later today to check the baby's growth.. I really hope she's alright. I'm gunna drink lots of apple juice beforehand to get her wriggling round.. Maybe this time she'll co-operate and open her legs properly for us (but then she can keep 'em .S.H.U.T til she's 18 as far as i'm concerned Laughing).. Although waiting another 6 weeks to find out the sex wouldn't be the end of the world, obviously.. My main concern is finding out whether my baby is ok or not Sad

i have another hospital appointment tomorrow to find out the results of the blood tests they did, I hope everything's ok with that, too.

Anyway, if I get pics of my scan i'll post them later and let you know how it went.

Well I had my scan... The sonographer took my baba's measurements and she's measuring smaller than average all over, they're expecting her to only weigh about 6lbs if she's born around her due date. There's less amniotic fluid than normal, too, which explains why my bump was measuring small.

They said apart from being small she looked healthy, she's moving a lot and her heartbeat is strong. Well, I say "she".. It's still not 100%, they "didn't have time" to see if they could determine the sex.. But while they were measuring the length of the legs there was a shot of her bits and to me it looked more like a lil 'hamburger'.. I couldn't see any obvious boy bits sticking out anyway! But then i'm just going by other gender ultrasounds i've seen.. This little one could still turn out to be a boy.

I have another scan in two weeks to see how she's getting on, they said they wanted to keep a close eye on me from now on. So after thinking i'd only get two scans, i'm now booked in for my fifth! It's been amazing seeing her grow. She's head-down, and has been for a while now.. So they couldn't really get a good profile shot of her like they did last time.. But I didn't get pictures in the end anyway, because the machine you buy tokens for pics from only takes exact change and I didn't have enough.. Grrr.

I'm actually slightly relieved that my baby doesn't have a huge head, coz apparently they run in my family, and I wasn't too keen on the idea of pushing that outta me! Her measurements are within the "normal" range, they're just right at the bottom end. So hopefully she'll be perfectly healthy.. Just small and cute Mr. Green

I'm glad everything went well! Did they tell you to drink more water? Drinking more water is supposed to help replenish the amniotic fluid. And if you saw the "hamburger" i'd definitely assume it's a girl. I had a scan at 38 weeks and it was extremely obvious that he's a boy, the sack was huge! So you have to pay for pics? That's wicked lame. Oh well, at least you got to see your little girl again!

They didn't tell me to drink more water actually, but I will do, I don't think I drink enough as it is and I know being dehydrated can cause problems. I just hate needing to pee every five minutes!

Yeah the pics aren't expensive, I just didn't have the right amount of change, which annoyed me coz my boyfriend hasn't been to any of my scans and he misses out on seeing her.. I wanted a pic to show him. I'll make sure I get one next time.
