Q: My life seems pretty good on the outside...
asked by: DoctorQuestion on October 23rd, 2006
I think i am kind of going out on a limb here... I am a very busy person, I am a full-time college student and also work full time. I have a boyfriend who I love, and live with, we are planning to get married in August. I must admit my life seems pretty good from the outside, and I really dont think it is that bad. There's alot of people out there who definatly are worse off then me. I do however get really stressed out very easily. I don't have any friends anymore, I havent been able to really make any in college, and my friends from high school are pretty much all gone their own seperate ways. School is very hard, and the people I work with at the Law Firm treat me like I am a total fool. Quitting my job isn't really a viable answer, because i have bills that have to be paid.

It is not easy to study and to work at the same time. In such cases, stress is expected. Further, it's improbable that one can have many friends if study and work is the focus. The good thing is that at least you have one friend of great value, your boyfriend. Even one good friend is better than many friends you can't rely on. It seems likely that the people at the law firm feel they treat you as “an fool” because they perceive you as only a beginner, a student. Don't despair! As you become a professional, things will change. For now, ehealthforum can be a good place to start. Ask people for advice, seek friendship. You are not alone! Conversely, you can seek the suggestions of a mental health professional such as a counselor, or a therapist. You may want to explore the psychology of the mind which can be trained to deal with stress and depression.
