Hello. I had mono five years ago. Last week one of my students mentioned she is getting over mono. I can't imagine that I could have come into contact with her saliva. However, last night I slept for sixteen hours, and today I was running errands and kept feeling faint over and over, which never happens to me. I had some coffee and wasn't hungry, but an allover feeling of weakness wouldn't go away. Finally I realized that I felt exactly as I had when I had mono--a particular feeling i've never felt any other time--not so much tired, but weak.

I know you can get mono twice, because my sister had it twice, but would I need to be re-infected or would the virus act up again? And is it possible that I could have mono without swollen lymph nodes. Last time there was an egg in my neck, this time, nothing.

Thanks for any light you can shed! I can't have mono--i'm too busy! Wink

I am not a dr but someone told me onetime that once you test for it and it shows a positive that your tests will always show positive. I did ask my dr about that and he said no, that that is not true. I have ested twice for it and both times it came out positive once was a long time ago amd the other time was a few years ago.
