Q: Calcified Or Porcelain Appendix

I recently had an abdominal and pelvic ct scan done for kidney stones (2 days after I passed a 3mm red kidney stone). The ct revealed I have a calcified or porcelain appendix. How did this happen? Is there any way I can reverse it or heal it? I have done some searching and can only come up with websites that are strictly medical and I just don't understand what they're saying. When I do standard searches for appendix -porcelain or -calcified, I get the standard ama driven sites that provide useless, surgery-happy information.
