Hi there - just thought I would give you my opinion, but it sounds like you could be spotting, and it could be your period. Implantation bleeding (if you were pg) usually occurs around 6-10 days after you ovualte, so day 38 seems to be a bit late. You should, however, go and have a blood pg test though just to make sure!
I am in the same boat as you though. I went off the pill almost 5 mths ago, and have had 2 periods.....One at 45 days, and the 2nd at 50 days. Missed my period this month, so I have no idea what's going on???
Clomid induces your period to come on, so if you did experience a period (light even at that) i'm not sure if you want to take the clomid quite yet. I would call in and perhaps get a 2nd opinion!

Thanks for the reply. Well, I really started today and the only reason I didn't start the clomid was because my temps were still up so I am glad I waited! I am definately not pregnant yet, but it's ok, that is what I am going to be taking clomid for. My doctor told me clomid was for ovulation, to help me ovulate earlier and more regular.
Wow! It sounds like you aren't ovulating regularly like me. My cycles were varying from 27 days and now up to 37-38 days. And last month my doctor doesn't even think I ovulated at all. But maybe you are pregnant now! That would be exciting!!! Have you been trying for a while?

Hi! Glad to hear that you got some things sorted out! Yes, clomid is for ovualtion, which in turn will produce a period afterwards if you don't get pregnant! I have been thinking about taking it, but i'm not sure yet, so please let me know how you feel and if it works for you! Yes, our cycles seem very similar and my doc also told me that he doesn't think i'm am ovualting very often. Very frustrating b/c I have no idea when to "try"??!!!! If you have cycles around 45-50 days, when the heck do you ovualte.....Any idea's? We have been trying now for 5 months, and i'm 30 now, so starting to get a little anxious!!!! Took a pg test already, but it was negative. Had the pms symptoms around day 28-30 so I though af was coming, but then all of a suden, everything just stopped and no af??!!!
May make a doc's app't next week to talk about some options (ie. Taking clomid, etc....)

I believe that when you first go to your doctor, he/she will ask you a bunch of questions, and from there, they will send you for blood work (test your hormone levels) and then perhaps even do an ultrasound (check for pcos, etc...) if you have not been trying for at least a year to get prenant, they will not send you to a "fertility specialist". If it has been over a year however (20-30 is a year, 35 & up is 6 months!), you can go to the specialist, and yes, they may also test your husband (sperm count, mobility, etc...)!
At least this is what my own family doctor has told me. I have only been trying for 5 mths, but I am still going to call tomorrow morning and make an app't to see him and discuss what may be going on. Are you experiencing similar problems? (not ovulating, missed periods, etc...)? How long have you been ttc?

Hello! Well I just took my last pill this morning, the only side effect I had was hot flashes at night, a little uncomfortable but not bad.
We haven't tested my husband because I know I can get pregnant, I had a m/c in april. But I do bbt charting so I took that to my ob/gyn and he looked at them to make the determination of what to do. I had an u/s in the spring time and he did a couple blood tests to check my thyroid and stuff. I was always told by a girl I know that had to go to a fertility specialist that the first thing they do is tell you to do a bbt chart for 3 months, so I figured I would just do it anyways and I am glad I did! It really sped up the process. So now I am hopefully going to get a u/s on wednesday to see if the clomid is working to see if I have a matured egg......But insurance is such a pain I don't know if they will cover it yet, you know without a million approvals.
I don't know when you would be ovulating? I wonder if you are at all if they are that long and at different times. Because I still had a somewhat period even though I didn't ovulate. I would say you should call your doctor and ask, or what I did was call and ask a nurse there and she can tell you if it seems like something is wrong enough to come in.
But yeah, even if I don't get pregnant this month I am hoping I will get my period at a decent time not almost 40 days! That is a really long wait when you are ttc!!!!

Glad to hear that things are going well and the process sounds like it's off to a good start!!!!!! I know what you mean about insurance policies.....They want everything from you and your first born!!! Good luck with the u/s if you get one, and I hope that you will have some great news to share with us soon!!!!
I did end up booking a doc's app't for next tuesday, so I am hoping that he will have some good answers and or suggestions (i've been charting my temp for so long now, so i'll bring that in with me as well!). Still no period, and I am now on day 44, so I am going to take another h.P.T tonight just to make sure. Once person told me that if you do not ovulate, but you end up getting some sort of bleeding (when you think your period has finally come!), that it could be a "false period". Have you ever heard of that? I haven't before.
Let me know how the clomid works for you. Some ladies say it's great, others say they've gotten one period, and then go back to no periods, or a very irregular cycle again, so i'm curious!
