Q: Brugada Syndrome

In september 2002 I was diagnosed with a condition known as brugada syndrome. In england this illness is very rare, infact its so rare that im the first person to be diagnosed in the midlands area of england.
I was fitted with a icd but developed an infection where they removed the defibrillator 7 months later.
I was fitted with a new one but this time it was placed on the right side. Now ive learned that there has been movement and the wire has come out of its location so they are talking about removing this icd.
For the first 7 months I was given anti-biotics to try and clear up the infection and now im suffering stomach and colon problems.
It seems just lately that if it aint one thing its another with me but im trying to be as positive as possible even though ive lost a tremendous amount of weight in the last month and im unable to eat.
Is there anyone else out there whos suffered similar problems to me and if so what advice can you give as here I dont seem to get any answers what so ever.
Thanks.
Les.

Hi les

im not a sufferer but my dad is and we live just in the north of england. I cant really relate to the infection you had bud the icd moving around happened to my dad

as u know they place the icd in a pocket in the muscle and obviously it is meant to stay there but my dads slipped out and started moving around towards his kidneys and he had to have it removed and a new one placed in a different area, his shoulder.

Might it be the case that the icd is too small to fit into the pocket of muscle where it is and maybe yours needs to be replaced the icds are now like the size of soap so maybe you could enquire about maybe them moving your icd into your shoulder as not only my dad but other sufferers in the family now have

i hope this helps please respond I would like to know what u think

many thanks
