When I was pregnant, for breakfast I had a fruit smoothie, fruit and oat breakfast bar, and a bowl of high fibre cereals with milk....I know that's a lot but I was always starving when I woke up ...And those kind of things are really easy to just grab and eat, no cooking!..And healthy. A smoothie is a great way to get 3, 4 even 5 portions of fruit in yourself.
Lunch was your usual sandwiches of wholemeal or seeded bread with salad or some type of fresh cold meat slices and pickle or mayonnaise in them. Then a yoghurt or piece of fruit....Again really quick, simple...And healthy.
Dinner something cooked like, pasta twists in a sauce which I would add chopped up bacon or chicken to get the protein...Lasagne and veg, spaghetti bolognese, big salads with a protein (eggs/tuna/salmon/chicken/turkey/ham), sometimes added pasta or rice to a salad aswell....The rest of the time was usually meals of some kind of meat with potatoes, vegetables and gravy.
Fruit for a snack, or unsalted nuts.
Water and fresh fruit juice to drink.
I was really healthy food wise for most of my pregnancy, some people see pregnancy as an excuse to stuff themselves silly of total crap foods and junk, but I felt the total opposite, I wanted to be healthy for my baby.
Hope that helped a bit!
