Q: How can I cope with Depression? I'm feeling really down...
asked by: DoctorQuestion on October 17th, 2006
I have had some problems with my health and it all started when I trapped a nerve in my back over a year ago. I started with depression about three months ago and my doctor has perscribed my with a antidepressant called criprimal and my dosage is 40mg per day.
I have seen a Cp Nurse and all she has given me is a load of leaflets about depression and also a day centre club with other people who suffer with depression but it is not helping me..
I am feeling really down..
and all I want to do is die.

You can appeal to a mental health doctor for an expert opinion. S/He may prescribe you another antidepressant or try another psychotherapeutic method. Your depression can’t be due to a “trapped nerve”. Reasons for depression are very complex. But take comfort knowing that you aren't alone. And please reach out to others on the Depression Forum at ehealth. Share a little and get involved. Together we can recover!
