Troubles...
Posted: 10-16-06 11:51am

Just need to vent.. I've have been on the phone all morning trying to find a pediatrician to see my baby when she's born, and no one in my provider directory is 1.) taking new patients or 2.) attending at the hospital where I am giving birth! Grrrr... Insurance companies suck! Now what am I supposed to do... United states health care is screwed up! Evil or
Very Mad thanks for listening to me vent! :d

I hate when they say they aren't taking new patients.

Also, they don't need to be attending at the hospital you'll be giving birth at. The one we chose isn't so someone who works for the hospital will do the initial after-birth exam and then pass the records along to our pediatrician.

It's frustrating but you'll find someone! Good luck!

Yeah, I know that they don't have to be, I just don't want to have to mess with a doctor at the hospital that doesn't accept my insurance.... And I guess that I would like to recognize the doctor who performs the first checkup on my baby girl.

It all sounds good to want to be able to recognize the pedi at your first visit but sometimes it won't work.

Most insurances will cover the pedi in the hospital that you are delivering at. If you are covered at the hospital them the pedi should be covered too. That is how it normally works

Yeah, I live in a dream reality lol. I am just irritated that things don't always go my way. Wink I finally found a doctor though. I googled it and then I called the office and they told me that if I put my preferred pediatrician on my forms when I check in, then she'll be the one that i'll see (most likely). So i'm a happy girl now :d

Good I am glad that things worked out for you.

Doesn't it put your mind at ease when things fall into place?
