If anybody has any insight, I would appreciate it. I have been getting chronic sinus and/or respirator infections one after another all throughout 2003 (and now to start 2004). I feel it come on, let it go for a few days to make sure its an infection and head to the doc. Doc gives me some form of antibiotic for 7-10 days and it clears up. 2-3 weeks later, damn thing is back. I finish all of my antibiotics as prescribed, don't smoke and am a freak about washing my hands at work. I've had asthma my entire life which i've pretty much grown out of, so I don't think that has much to do with it. Help. Anybody.

Concerned ......
Confused I have had what I thought was a cold for 6 days now. I don't have a cough, sore throat, ear aches ,nothing like that. I have the body aches, a constant stuffy nose and junk in the back of my throat. A couple of days ago I was blowing my nose. I felt a little bit of pressure release from my left nostril, I opened my tissue and their was a pea-sized blood clot( I dont know if it was a clot, or just bloody mucus junk) and then it just started bleeding after that. And I mean bleeding! Now everytime I blow my nose, it bleeds for awhile. I've tried sudafed, benadryl, and a generic sinus caplets, nothing has helped clear the congestion for me. I hate blowing my nose, because of the bleeding, but that is the only way to clear my nose. I am mostly worried about the constant bleeding of my nose, please give me some medical advise.

Hey Concerned........
Corpwarrior here. I've had the same problem on occaision with the sinus infection thing. Anyway, my doc said its from blowing too hard and that my veins are close to the surface in my nose, hence they are prone to rupturing. The best way to reduce it (in addition to not blowing so hard)is to get a humidifier for use at night and put some salve in your nose. The stuff to use is a & d ointment. This can usually be found in the baby-stuff aisle at the store. Put a dot on a q-tip and swab it around the inside of your nose---don't go too far up though. It has a funky smell you have to get used to, but this and the humidfier will do wonders. Also make sure you up your fluid intake when your taking meds...They tend to dry you out. Do the a & d thing during the day too. Just don't put so much on the q-tip that you clog up your nose!

Chronic Sinus
For corp warrior:
the predominant symptoms of sinusitis are nasal blocking, nasal discharge, sneezings, post nasal dropping of mucus, heaviness of the head, body ache, inability to concentrate on the job at hand. If you can give more particular symptoms of your ailment, a proper homeopathic remedy can be suggested which will not only alleviate your current symptoms but also see that the recurrence is stopped. Homoeopathic remedies like kali bichromicum pulsatilla & silicea have the capacity to reduce the symptoms and cure sinusitis.
