For me it felt great to tell a Dr. Since they know eating disorders and don't believe all the stereotypes Dr.'s are less judgemental. I have found that eating disorders freak out my family and friends but Dr.'s are supportive and non-judgemental. The frirst Dr. I told was great she told me she happy I told her and she knew it was really difficult to talk about.

I agree with rina here, it's a lot better when you tell them, not only because it's really important that they know what't actually going on, but also because they support you more that those people who are closer to you..
