Q: 2 Month Check-up

We took .Alyvia in for her two month check-up today. She's 9 pounds 2 ounces now and 22 inches long. The pedi said she's in the 25th percentile for weight and height, and that she's 'petite' but in excellent health. My .Aly's a tiny little thing!

She also got an oral vaccination and two shots. My husband had to hold her arms while the pedi gave the shots. I had to turn around, I couldn't watch my baby get stuck.

She's been really sleepy since then. I've given her tylenol drops and she hasn't developed a fever yet, and she's eaten twice (pedi said she might not want to eat, so .I'm happy she's eaten something), but she's really fussy when she's awake. Her cry is definitely different today, so I know my poor girl doesn't feel very good. I'll just be happy when this is over. Sad

Give that sweet little girl extra cuddles! Shots are awful - but way better than the alternative!

Petite is perfect. My daughter was in the 25% percentile her whole...Well, life. She is all skinny legs and no chub on her at all. Sounds like your daughter is the same!

There's nothing wrong with being petite! You're not the *biggest* woman i've come across!! Hahaha...!!

I can't wait to see .Aly sitting up and stuff!!! It won't take long *at all*!!!!!!!!

Congratulations girl! You've made it to month 2!!!!!!!!! It starts letting up right about now!!! You'll start to see her personality more and more each day!! Get your camera ready for the laughs, coos, and smiles!!

Thanks ladies. Her pedi said .Aly was in great health, and she wasn't surprised that she was so little, because her father and I are both small. (i'm 5'4, 120ish and he's 5'9, 160ish). In the waiting room people thought she was a freshly-born baby, until I took her out of her car seat. Aly was (mostly) holding her head up on her own and was looking around at everyone and sucking on her hands. Pretty advanced for a brand-new baby! Wink

i think the nurse scared her. She screamed like crazy when the lady took her to be weighed and measured. The nurse was laughing when she brought her back, because .Aly was acting like she was stabbing her! I comforted her for a few minutes, but when the nurse came back she started crying even before getting her temperature and pulse taken! She's such a little drama queen.

She started running a low-grade fever a little while ago. I gave her another dose of tylenol since her last dose was early this afternoon. I can't stand to see her feeling ill. I'll just be glad when she's feeling like her old self again. It really makes me worried to see her this way.

Aww poor little skoot. Give her big kisses from me and .Melia. Melia knows what it's like to get those shots. Poor baby! She is a tiny little thing. Melia was in her 45% range.

She will be fine though just give her a day or so.

We let .Aly sleep with us last night. She was feeling so miserable and was so fussy that I let her cuddle up next to me. It seemed to soothe her, poor baby.

The pedi told me that her stools might become loose, but I was more focused on other things. I'm worried about fever and lack of appetite, not poopie diapers.

Well, that was a mistake. I woke up in a wet patch this morning. Not only did .Aly have "loose stools", she had an explosion! Her diaper was completely saturated and it was leaking from both sides. I had to give .Aly a bath and wash the sheets.

She's much more active today, but she still feels a bit warm and she's very cuddly. This girl has me wrapped around her little finger!

That is how it goes normally...The cutest little things in the world have a way of latching on. But I think I have latched on more to her than she has to me. Lol. I noticed that .Melia was cuddly a lot the day after and didn't want me to put her down. But she sure did sleep good. I have yet to have an explosion nappie....But I am sure that I will soon. Melia always sleeps in the bed with me. Everynight. I'm sure that I will need to break her of the habit but I love her cuddling with me.
