Massive Weight Gain - Is This Ok? Posted: 10-10-06 17:34pm
Well in the last 4-5 weeks i've put on 10
pounds. Is that ok for such a quick
gain?
I'm just over 34 weeks and i've heard you
put on weight at the end but i'm not at
the end yet!

I did that too... At my 28 week checkup I
had gained 10 pounds since my 24 week
checkup. When I went for my 32 week
checkup, my weight gain slowed and I had
only put on 2 more pounds. My doctor said
that sometimes if the baby has a growth
spurt, our bodies might go into fat
storage overdrive thinking that maybe
we'll need the extra. She told me that as
long as the quick weight gain doesn't
continue and I try to keep my weight gain
to baby pounds from here to the end (like
not gain more than 50 pounds all together,
then things are ok) i'm 33 weeks right now
and so far i've gained (according to my
doc) 41 pounds (yikes!) and 7 weeks to
go... I'm only allowed to gain 9 more
pounds now.... Lol like that's gonna
happen!

I put on a heap of weight during my 6th
month. About 10 lbs. My doctor said,
"whoa! Slow down on the ho-ho's!" the weight gain
slowed down after that. I don't think it
was what I was eating so much as how much
my body had made me take things slower.
Although, I did have a healthy appetite!

Ok so it's not just me - phew! I'm 34
weeks and i've now put on 37 pounds (10 in
the last 4 weeks)! Hopefully that was
the growth spurt from my lil boy and
hopefully it slows down now!

I am 37 weeks and have put on probally
over 35 lbs s total. And most of that has
been in the past two months!

I gained 80 lbs with my first daughter!
Ackkkkk I lost pretty much all of it,
then an additional 20 lbs when I found out
I was pregnant with my second daughter.
(my oldest was only 8 months old when I
found out I was ob) good luck!
the weight gain
slowed down after that. I don't think it
