Q: Appendicitis Post Op Problems

My partner was finally diagnosed with appendicitis two weeks ago after being misdiagnosed with kidney infections/stones on and off for over 4months. He was in hospital for 3days before he was opertaed on and then had problems getting his bowels to work after the op. He was violently sick for a week and eventaully put on a liquid feed for two days before he left the hospital. He is now 2 weeks after his op for appendicitis and he is still being sick on a daily basis and is getting what feels like trapped wind under his ribs....This is very painful and he is finding it hard to sleep, lay down or even sit for long periods of time....He has been given anti sickness drugs but they make him worse so gp has told him to stop taking them and he is now on prochlorperazine for his anixtey and sickness. But they don;t seem to be working either. He also has a small infection in one of his stitches and is 'leaking' from a small hole....He is taking antibiotics for this!!!!

Does anyone know how long this sickness will last and how long recovery is after an open appendicitis.
