Hi,

i get my period every month I miss a month here and there but when I do get them they lasts a minimum of 14 days. It starts very light then it gets heavier after 1 week, and then lightens until it stops. I am trying to get pregnant with no success. I also have pcos. What can cause this long period of bleeding.

Thank you for your response.

Speak to your doctor about this as you may need a short course of hormones or possibly surgical intervention to help sort your periods out (maybe just a d&c - cleaning the uterus of excess endometrial tissue).

As you are trying to get pregnant your doctor will be able to discuss the best options for your case.

Good luck
