Q: Brain Cyst Diagnosed: can I prevent blurred vision during he
asked by: DoctorQuestion on October 10th, 2006
I have headaches that occur usually 2 to 3 times a week for years, but in the last five months the headaches have changed. Now instead of being a constant pain they are sharp in the right side and causing a blurred vision in the left eye, which last for hours. The blurred vision is bad to the point that I can not drive or do any physical activity because I can not see. I have seen my doctor and she had a CT and Sinus CT done. The CT has shown a cist. Is this something I should be worried about and is there a preventive measure I can take when I feel the headaches coming on so that it doesn't effect my vision.

Unfortunately, it seems that there is nothing you can do to prevent blurred vision when having a headache. It is possible that the diagnosed brain cyst is causing the headache and blurred vision. You should consult a neurosurgeon about the cyst in the brain. Removal of the cyst can be considered as a treatment option, especially if the cyst is growing.
