Yes, you are at risk for pregnancy....

If you have a 28 days cycle... Day 1 is when your period starts.... Day 14 is when you ovulate... The day or 2 after your period could be day 8-10... Sperm can live in you for 5 days.

So you see, you are at risk. This is why so many people may become pregnanct, they do not know that the week after your period stops is generally the most fertile time.

Take plan b if you want to prevent pregnancy.

You have a chance of pregnancy and it really depends on your time of ovulation if you tend to ovulate early then you are a real risk. I suggest you get emergency contraceptive pills by tomorrow or the day after tomorrow.

This is my response that I posted in your other post.

Quote:
any time you have unprotected sex you are at risk of pregnancy as you can not know for definite when you ovulate - unless you are a dedicated charter.

Now by 2, 3 days after your period what do you mean?
2, 3 days after it began or 2,3 days after it ended?

If you mean 2, 3 days after it began then the chances are low but not low enough to ignore.
If you mean 2, 3 days after it ended - well that depends on how long it lasted?

Let's assume a typical cycle of 28 days with ovulation occurring around day 14. Let's also assume a typical duration of 5 days bleeding.
So 2, 3 days after would be around day 7-8 of your cycle.

Sperm can live up to 5 days in the female body. An ovum (egg) is viable for approx 36 hours from ovulation.
So you highest fertility is from 5 days before ovulation until 2 days after.
In a typical case days 9 - 16 (day 1 being the first day of bleeding).

So if you bled for 5 days and had sex on day 7-8 then you are mighty close to that highly fertile window, if you bled for 7 days then 2, 3 days after is smack bang in that high fertile window.

No time is 100% safe to have unprotected sex.
Pregnancy isn't the only risk either - think about sti's...
