Well it should be LGBT, since this is the accepted, used, and widespread term to describe the community.

It should actually be .g.l.b.t.a. That's for gay lesbian bisexual transgendered and ally. I'm an ally myself.

An ally is someone who is not gay, bisexual, transgendered, or lesbian, but who is a friend and supporter of people who are.

Well, Allies like to be included, and GLBTA is the "official" abbreviation now anyway.

Allies are as much a part of the GLBT communnitty as lesbians are!

I'm sure this was decided long ago but I also like GLBTA. I never realized that there were "allies" but it is cool to know because I AM ONE! lol

I'm not sure why you would want to drop the 'T'.

I particulairly like this way of saying it. ^_^ Most people (and when i say people I mean the wording of it) dont think of or include the allies unless it's the pflag which this isnt or is it. I think the pflag means Parents, Families & Friends of Lesbians & Gays although the only problem with that is that it leaves out the bi sexuals.

oh gosh, i had to see what this was all about cos i thought there was a miss spelling of blt somewhere! no offense meant i really havent heard of all the abreviations etc - is that coz of being in uk? do we have different 'groupings' here? i actually like people who are individuals - doesnt occur to question their sexual preferences etc unless i fancy a relationship with them. good luck with your choosing folks - i am now enlightened!
