I'm new around here so i'm not sure i'm posting in the right forum.

A few weeks ago I had an ercp where they removed a 6mm gallstone that
was trapped in the bile duct. It caused me a lot of pain for over a year before
they found out what was wrong with me.

Since then the pain have changed.
Back then it was located in the upper part of my stomach, and sometimes
on the left side where the gallbladder is. I've been diagnosed with gallstone
and I will remove the gallbladder on oct 17.
Today it's a burning pain that goes from the upper middle part, where the
ribcage meet the chest bone, and down towards my stomach and around
to the back on the right side.

I've taken paracetamol and codeine on a daily basis for months because
of that gallstone they removed, but today that won't do any good. The
codeine will disconnect my brain from the rest of me for an hour or so, and
then it's back in full force again. It makes it impossible to sleep and live a
normal life.

When I was diagnosed with gallstone I changed my diet dramatically, so i
eat very low fat and there are certain things I cannot eat at all.

The docs ignore me when I tell them about this pain, and maybe it's just
the gallstone that is still messing around now and then. But since i've been
on codeine for so long i'm worried that it might screw up my stomach
enough to actually cause this kind of pain.

Thanks for your time.

dear croxie,

you might get better results if you post your question in the appendix, appendicitis, gallbladder disorders forum. It seems most appropriate there. Please feel free to create another post there and see how it goes! Or you can ask our doctor and get a personalized response in just days. Feel free to write us at username: admin if you find it hard to get connected to ehealthforum.

Sincerely, admin
