I have been now to a very experienced ent doc who has been in the practice for 60 years and never ever saw anything what I have. He asked me various questions and looked thoroughly in my throat and couldn't see anything his final ruling was anxiety-stress related. Yes i'm on a lot of stress but still skeptical.
I had this problem now since late february. I always have a feeling like something is sticking around my adam's apple area kinda like mucuous but in no way it's not, and it causes me to repetitely swallow to clear it which is very annoying. Before it used to last a few weeks, then pass and each time it came back it was milder and milder and then gone, and for about 3 months it was completely gone. But now it came back several weeks with no break and on top of it a new symptom where I feel as if the uvula (tissue that hangs in your mouth in your throat) is being irritated by my tongue and it always causes me to clear my throat as well. The only thing I found that relieves this problem, is eating especially something juicy like hot dogs, steak, french fries with ketchup etc. But drinking anything aggravates it a bit. I also have mild chronic cryptic tonsilitis but the doc said that is nothing related to what you have.
My ent doc gave me some medicine that increases saliva in your mouth, the name is potassium iodine but no pharmacy has it. Now he wants to give me another medicine that will dry out my mouth and stop swallowing (no I will still be able to eat and everything will be fine).
What the hell do I have, please help me, this problem is very very annoying, it's driving me insane. All this repetitive swallowing and other stuff I do to relieve my throat constantly is making my throat irritated and dry. But then again I wouldn't be surprised if I get zero replies since this is very unusual what I have.
