A friend of mine wants to stop taking bc for a little while. She is getting married in aug so she wants to know when she should start taking it again to make sure she is covered and safe in aug.
Does anyone know the answer to this? Any help would be much appreciated!

Thanks,

jill

If she is getting married, I would tell her to start it about 3-4 months before the wedding. She could experience breakthrough bleeding or spotting from the surge of hormones from the pills. A doctor will recommend that you give the pill at least 3 months for your body to get used to it. The last thing she would want is to experience the bleeding on her wedding day.
