My upper eyelids start twitching at random intervals throughout the day. It only lasts about 5 minutes and then it'll start again anything from 15 mins to a couple of hours later. And when it happens it's not continuous: the eyelid will twitch two or three times then 5-10 seconds later it'll happen again and so on.
90% of the time it is my left upper eyelid.

I doubt it has anything to do with epilepsy but it is rather annoying and it has been going on for about 2 weeks.

Eyelids Twitching
Kd-

hi, I just joined and noted your question. I am a fellow sufferer of epilepsy and I had the surgery on my brain in february of this year. I dealt with a lot of eye twitching prior to that and did a lot of research on-line. I believe that information I located at that time revealed that the twitching can actually be a minor form of a seizure. I'll try to find some info. On it & let you know. Just trying to help. Let me know if I can be of any further assistance. Good luck to you! Smile

Well it is still happening though not as frequently and it is always in my left eyelid now. That's about 1 and a half months it's been happening.

Thanks for your reply josie

i started with just my eye which eventually moved around. Visually, if I look I can see it. It started with my right eye, then my cheek, then my lip (which felt bizarre), then a spot on my arm and thigh.

I had it happen during my veeg but am awaiting results on the 5th.

Feel free to swing by to read my full story (it's late and i'm too lazy to copy/paste).

my story (that I need to update): http://neurotalk.Psychcentral.Com/showthre ad.Php?T=2540

pm me or email if you need anything. Try a warm washrag or heat pack, that worked for mine. I'd use cold but I have trigeminal neuralgia and it seems to trigger me. Sad

have a great evening.

twitching
I feel twitching frequently. It is very annoying. It will start at a small spot on my thigh, than move to another place, and jump to my arm. It will start and stop. Also, what is really bothersome is when my upper lip, seemingly to start at the side of my nostril will "pull" and lift only one half of my lip up in an uncontrolled smirk. The lip thing hasn't happened lately, but for me I notice a coorelation between not enough sleep and too much computer usage causing the twitching. Exercise and gentle stretching help too, no pretzel movements. I take Depakote and have for 7 years.
