Hi everyone,

i am a writer so I type all the time, all day at work. I transcribe and etc. Etc. I am using little explanation here to limit my typing.. But my hand has been hurting so very badly lately, for the past several months. I had this a bit in college but it has gotten so much worse. Throughout the day now I have to blow on my hand, put ice on it, sit on it, (anything hot or cold- cold is better though - helps).

So family doctor prescribed an anti inflammatory, a wrist brace, and an emg. Did the first two, the test hasn't been done yet (so I guess it's not for sure cts). He also said I should limit use, but I can't do that as I need my job for my income, of course.

Anyway, I recently enrolled in a personal short term disability policy. I want to know if this will cover being out of work for a while to rest my hand. Or is this chronic so a dr wouldn't approve short term disability? (i don't know how this all works.) can anyone give me advice about this? Thank you so much!

I know that is is from october. I work in insurance and short term disability. i would assume as long as it's not pre-existing, provided they have a pre-ex clause, this should be covered as long as your doctor will write you out of work. pushing pulling typing lifing all can agravate .C.T.S .

All the best to you...sorry this responce is so late.
