I am currently taking pravastatin for cholesterol. It's not quite doing the job for triglycerides (216). My doctor wants to add lopid to get the triglycerides under 200. I've read that this is not a good combination. Is there another combination that would work better?

i had high triglycerides after my by-pass surgery and my cardio md didn' t want to put me on statin drugs; but try diet and exercise. Especially eliminate sweets and refined carbs. I called a friend of mine, a research chemist at e.I.Lily for his help. He connected me with Dr.Zhu in china, who told me what to do and he also helped me bring my bp into normal range.

I have keep a log on this and will email you with a copy if you want.

Switch to a low carb diet and your triglycerides will fall like a stone as will your ldl and your hdl will rise. Statins are incredibly dangerous drugs and if you switch to a low carb diet you will not need to take any at all.

Moderator: can something not be done about these advertisements particularly as most of his information re cholesterol is wrong, I thought it was against the forum rules.

i would suggest don't take too much statins. They don't do good. Use co enzyme q 10 alongwith your cholesterol reducing statin pills. Try natural forms of co q 10... Especially herbal sources.
Search herbal tea for heart and cholesterol at google...You will find one.. - .
It is a good one. You can try it. ?
