I read that your basal temp should only be as high as 99. My temp for the past week has been around 99.5 although one day it went down to 97.7 what could this mean?

I realize this is late, but...

So that's what your temp is first thing in the morning? (i think you're supposed to check it before you get out of bed and do any kind of activity.) that really is kind of high. From what I understand, our temps should be at their lowest from the time we start our period, until the day we ovulate. After ovulation our temps raise and stay that way until our period starts again, and then drops back to the lows. If hormones are out of whack for whatever reason, the temps won't follow this pattern, but will instead be kind of all over the place. I know that things like illness would affect the bbt reading. Could you of had a fever?
