Q: Is This a Valid Reason to Abort?

My (not so close) friend confessed to me that she is nearly 18 weeks pregnant but doesn't know who the father is. Her boyfriend is black but she cheated on him with a white guy.
She is now scared that the white guy is the father and the baby will be born white (she is white also)

she was very happy initally to be pregnant and wanted a baby (her boyfriend and her were trying) she come off birth control to try for a baby with her boyfriend and didn't use a condom with the one night stand Rolling Eyes

she is now saying that she is going to get an abortion as she is scared that the baby will come out pure white. She .R.E.A.L.L.Y wants a baby and is upset at wanting to have an abortion but she said that she can just have another.

I think her reasoning is wrong and she will regret this. What do you think?

i think it's the fear of being caught out rather than the skin colour itself which is the driving force behind her wanting an abortion. The only reason skin colour is an issue here is because it could show her up as a lying cheat.

purest green is correct on this. Her boyfriend is black thats why she's scared of the baby being pure white in case it all blows up with her boyfriend

i think she should do whatever she wants, personally she should the kid what if the black guy accepts it as his own?

you are right diamond the guy might accept as it owns. I had a coworker his wife got pregnant two times of other men and he still forgive her and raised her health questions children as his own. Of course we always thought how could he be so stupid but there you go. Hehe

I think it would be better if such an irresponsible twit does not become a parent. However, she should have made the choice to abort long ago, not waited until almost halfway thru gestation.

hey, I have to agree with natalie. This woman is being selfish, she is being racist too (yes, towards her own race, it happens). She purposly got off birth control, and she purposly had sex in order to become pregnant. She done f-ed up by having a one-night-stand, and the fetus doesn't deserve to die for that. I think she needs to tell her boyfriend. If they wanted a child together, then he should be just fine raising this child. Also, they should be married if they're having children in my opinion. Finally, if this dude is as big of a jerk as his girlfriend is, and he wants her to abort too, then fine. But, if in the end he is just like "jeeze girl! I'm leavin! You gave your uterus to someone else!" then he's totally deserving to dump her. Then it's up to her to keep the child of a man she'll never see again, or what.

I can understand why she would want to abort - too bad she couldn't birth the child in another state and pay a nurse to switch her baby with a bi-racial child. {sarcasm} I wouldn't say it's selfishness as much as it is cowardice - if a woman wants to get knocked up from a one-night horizontal jog and abort for fun, then fine. But deceiving her partner about his son is another thing entirely.

The woman needs to tell him what happened, and if she wants to abort to make him stay with her, then that's her call.

It's her choice, she certainly wouldn't be the first to abort because of having had multiple partners but this is something she should ideally have been thinking about much earlier in her pregnancy.
Personally though I think not knowing who the father is is a perfectly valid reason to abort.

it will be very visible white white =white lol
brown and white comes out kinda tanned/tannish

my kids father is very dark(filipino) my kids are olive skinned I guess you could say I believe malatto(spelling?) if for white and black and yes I love mixed babies!

i too love mixed babies. If I ever have kids with my bf it will be a surprise because he is red haired, his brother is blond blue-eyed and his sister is totally brunnette like me. My guess is they would be brunettes..

i agree. Either abortion is okay or it isn't. I don't get the mentality that says it's okay for some reasons but not all (except for life/health of the woman). Either a z/e/f has a right to life or not.
