Q: Wellbutrin Concerns
asked by: LookAhead on September 30th, 2006

I recently saw a psychiatrist and he suggested he prescribe wellbutrin for my mild depression, anxiety, and some other things that are just bringing me down. I checked out the medication online and found a huge list of side effects, none of which I want to deal with. I feel that I might be better off without taking this drug.

Could anyone here who take wellbutrin or who knows anything about it offer some insight. What are/were your experiences with it? Any advice is appreciated.

Re: Wellbutrin Concerns
Hi there!

This second time im writing to aperson who registered on this healt forum.Although registering myself was never my intention but this only way I can reach out to them.
Im not a doctor but un ordinary girl. Born again christian .A normal human bieng like you working and having job like most people does.
I just want you to know this medical prescbition over your deppression will not heal you regardless of the amount you take.
Becoz they dont cure the inner spirit inside you. They obvioue will arise again. But what heal a man is ''proverb:18:14 "' the spirit of man will sustain his infirmity/sickness'' this is the word god who created you.
So for yu to heal from your problem is to have strong spirit.Where this spirit comes from?... Only from jesus''he can heal you.
Im just concerned I see that most people on this world trying to heal only outside but what they dont know is if thier spsirt change that is all.Thats why john :3:5 said you must be born again'' to rechived new spirit'' that will give eternal life like im now. Please let me know your interest I 'd love to shrare you more on detail.
Thank you/

Xl Or Sr?
Ok im not sure if your taking xl or sr. Ive been taking welbutrin xl 150mg for about 5 months now and I absolutley love it...This was the first anti depressant ive ever taken and I did a lot of research on all of them. This one fit me the best, low chance of weight gain & no decrease in sex drive(which is true!). I'm mainly on it for mild depression but mainly for ged(generalized anxiety disorder). At first, I didn't notice a difference but people around me did, then I did. Your anxiety will increase on some days when you start but thats with any anti depressent. I take xanax if I feel im going to have an attack. I haven't had any other side effects. I took 250mg once and that made me have horrible dry mouth that was it, but I didn't need that high of a dose. I lost 15 pounds on welbutrin xl. I was always thin which wasn't good but for some people it worked out great. You should try it but give it time to get into your system. Try it, you can always change,

Personal Experience Welbutrin Xl
Welbutrin completely changed my life. I used to suffer from depression. It reached a point, when at the age of 20, I went through a time when I couldn't even go to work. I used to have meltdowns where I would cry and cry and an unbearable feeling would come over my body and mind. I was on the verge of becoming suicidal. When I began to try antidepressants, I went through three others before we arrived at welbutrin. It was a miracle. I couldn't believe how normal I began to feel. There were no sexual side effects. I had more energy and lost weight. After about three years, I decided that I had been fine for a long time and couldn't even believe that there was a time I was so disfunctional! I decided to wein myself off of it, I cut down slowly over a couple of weeks, with no difficulty. Now, i'm 26, and recently felt like I was heading back down that old road of depression. I started taking welbutrin again. This time around, it makes me feel a bit weird, almost slightly hallucinagenic when at night, I have a hard time sleeping. I'm not as crazy about it this time around, but it may take a little while to adjust. If not, i'll try something else. I've heard negative things about welbutrin from others, but from my own experience, it made a world of difference. I am also a born-again christian, and absolutely believe in the need for christ and his healing powers. We all need that in our lives. And sometimes we need the proper medication.
