I just found out that I have another abnormal pap I had the leep procedure done about 5 months ago but now have anothe abnormal one. I have a family history of cervical cancer. Could it be? Please give me some answers. Sad

No of course you don't have cancer. You just have abnormal cells again and that is common specially if you have bad strains of the hpv. It takes a long time for abnormal cells to become cancer. It seems like you are on top of your condition so don't worry.

Cervical cancer does not run in families. So even if every woman in your family had cervical cancer, it would not raise your risk of getting it. Cervical cancer is from the hpv virus.

You are seeing a doctor, that is excellent! Abnormal cells on your cervix .A.R.E .N.O.T cancer. They can progress to cancer (doctors estimate this process takes a very, very long time. Like years and years) if left untreated. You are being treated.

What does your doctor recommend at this point? Another leep or a watch and wait approach?
