Q: First Late Period

I'm a 20-year-old female and have had my period since I was 11. It's normally very regular, starting about two days later than the last mont [for example june 10, and then again on july 11 or 12.]

my period is now over two weeks late, and i'm growing concerned. I have never had a lapse in my period. I know it isn't pregnancy because i've never had sex.

Now I know there are some serious menstrual problems in my family [my mother takes a perscription for severe bleeding and endometriosis, and my grandmother had to have a hystorectomy for similar problems,] but my sister's problems are much different [unless she takes birth control regularly she goes months without her period, and when she gets it again it lasts months.]

i haven't experienced any symptoms, and it's the first time my period has been late, but because of the issues in my family i'm growing concerned. I have a yearly physical coming up at the end of november, but I don't know if I should wait until then or not.

Hi,
my aunt began having problems with her menstrual cycle in her early twenties too. Your best bet is to go to your doctor and explain your situation.
