Q: Urinary Infection Or Something More Serious?

I've been suffering with an urge to urinate and abdominal pain. I also feel sick and have had a little blood spotting on the tissue which I assume is from my urine.

I'm due on my period, but I haven't come on yet. I put a tampax in because I thought I was coming on but I think it's more to do with the infection.

My breasts are tender and I was worried I may be pregnant, i'm on the pill recently tho and did a test the other day which is on the day after my period is due and it says negative.

I'm sure I can't be pregnant but it's 4 days later and no period, firm breasts still and abdominal pain and urinary problems with slight sickness.

Could anyone give me any advice.

Thanks
janey

Firstly, how long have you been on the pill, and do you take it regularly?

Second, the breast tenderness and late period do sound like pregnancy, however the presence of blood is more serious. It sounds much more like an infection of some sort. I had similar symptoms last summer, except that my period ended three days early. I think your best bet is to see your doctor and make sure its taken care of.

Well, the nausea and breast soreness and spotting are *probably* related to starting the pill. It sounds like you should probably see your doctor about the possible uti, and while you're there you can mention the other symptoms you're having. He/she will probably tell you it's from the pill, but it can't hurt.
