Q: TMJ: clicking/popping noises & pain in the temple

hi there, i dont know if im suffering from tmj. I hear clicking noises i my ears when i yawn or open my mouth also popping noises too. I get pains in my temples but not all the time. I havent been to the dentist in a while as i am scared but i do know that i need alot of work done on my teeth. Please can you help me do u think its tmj i have? I also get these strange feelings in my chest but not all the time. I keep thinking i havea brain tumor i am a hypocondriact and it stresses me. HELP

According to the symptoms you describe (clicking noises, popping noises, strange feelings in the chest, thoughts about a brain tumor …) you might be experiencing hypochondria. You can visit a dentist to look at your teeth and to diagnose TMJ. You may also see a cardiologist for the chest and heart for diagnostic procedures, and an ENT-specialist for your ears. If all of the examinations are normal, you might consider consulting a mental health professional about feelings of constant illness. Psychotherapy can help ease the anxiety of feeling unwell, and/or alone.
