Q: Spotting After Hysterectomy...

Last may I had a hysterectomy during a c-section. I was bleeding out and they had to make a quick decision. I still have my ovaries, but occasionally I spot, just light pink. Is this normal?

Thank you for your input!!

Sometimes when women have a hyst but keep their cervix, a few little bits of uterine tissue end up staying with the cervix (there's nothing like a clear dotted line to cut on, alas). These little bits may still cycle and provide mini-periods.

That's the most likely explanation., but if the bleeding increases in amount or when you next see your doctor, it's a good thing to ask about just to be sure.

Sorry, I should have mentioned that cervix is gone too. I wish they would have told me a little more after doing the surgery. They tried to avoid the surgery all together, and I ended up bleeding out the equivilant of 2 large bottles of soda. So they had to go back in (after having sewed me up from the c section 5 minutes earlier) and did the hyst. Thank you for your reply!!
