Q: Iron Supplements

I am taking a multi-vitamin that has 100% supply of iron and I am also taking a calcium w/ vitamim d and 100% iron in it. Am I at risk for anything because I am taking 200% rda of iron? Is it unhealthy to be taking this much iron? Thanks for your help.

I am no doctor but you would think that double of any supplemant is not good for you or the baby. Alot of times the rda on the bottle is not correct. Ask a doctor what the rda is for you and this stage in your life.

Iron Supplements
Thanks for the info, sattva, however, I am not pregnant. I started a diet and exercise program a few months ago and have lost 26 pounds. I just wondered if I should take a calcium supplement that does not have iron in it since my multivitamin has 100% iron in it. I will call and ask my doctor, thanks for responding to my question.
