Q: Bleeding After a Supracervical Hysterectomy

Hi,

i have a question. I had a supracervical hyst 25 days ago. Suddenly yesterday I began bleeding frank red blood. Not just old blood that I know is normal. Not a lot but enough to make me call my nurse practitioner. My back hurts swelling pain and bleeding. She called me back and said stay in bed for the next few days and rest. My doc is on call this weekend so if I really start to bleed a lot call her she will see me asap.
She also said there might be some retained endometrial tissue at or in the cervix.. And it's time for your normal cycle. You possibly could be bleeding from that.
I will be sick if I bleed every month . I'll be pissed .I thought that was part of the beauty of a hyst!!!

Has anyone had this or heard of this?? I am nurse for 23 year and haven't.

Let me know.

Hysterectomy
I my self just had the same done about two weeks ago. I as well thought after a hysterectomy we should not bleed. Not sure why we are still bleeding but if you find out reply to me and let me know. As I will do the same for you as well.

Hysterectomy
I called and spoke with my Dr.'s office they said that unless you are bleeding heavy there is no need to worry. You should call and make an appointment if you are bleeding really heavy. My Dr. Said you will have a light spotting going on for about 6 weeks after as it is normal. If still worried I would call you doc.
