Q: Is my period two weeks early or is bleeding caused by implan
asked by: DoctorQuestion on September 22nd, 2006

I stopped taking the pills around the 15th b/c I figured the Augmentin had made the first week not work anyway. Stupid to stop I know. During that time, my boyfriend and I had unprotected sex. Again, not the smartest thing to do. My question is: could this really be my period two weeks early or could it be implantation? I have had slight nausea, heartburn, breast tenderness but this could just be menstral related. Please help...

The bleeding you experienced on the 20th of September might be caused by coming off birth control pills on the 15th. Lack of hormones (estrogen and progesterone) causes endometrial bleeding. There is a small chances that you arepregnant in this case but you MUST take a pregnancy test to confirm or exclude pregnancy. All the symptoms you’ve mentioned are unspecific and could mean anything.
