I have hip dysplasia and just now am at the point where doctors are recommending hip replacement. I am 26 years old and up until now they have said I was too young. I am hoping to find young people that have had thr to see what life is like now. I feel pain everyday but unsure if it is bad enough to warrant thr. I've come to a point where i've lived with the pain for so long that i'm unsure of what to do. I'm hoping to have kids in the next couple of years as well and wonder what that will be like with or without a thr.
I'd love to hear from anyone under 30 with thr that has or has not had children.
Thank you for your time! Smile

Yea, I had a total hip replacement when I was 17, i'm 47 now. Although surgery was a life altering experience, I don't have much problems with it now. Just the ocassional ackes & pains. You learn to minimize your lifting abilities. Mobility is almost normal. The only thing I can't do is sit with my legs crossed.
