I'm not sure if i'm posting in the right forum (this is my first post here), but my fiance is experiencing some rather bizarre stomach upset, and we have no idea what might be causing it.

A few weeks ago, he ate a personal sized sausage pizza (unhealthy, I know, but it's something he'd eaten many times before and had no problem with), and was then hit with severe stomach pain, nausea, and eventaully vomited three times. The next day, he felt fine, and everything returned to normal. Then, last nite, after eating a full plate of butter and garlic pasta, he was hit with intense nausea (though, there was no pain this time) which lasted several hours. He was finally able to fall asleep, and woke up to day feeling sick to his stomach. He ate a bowl of cereal, took a walk, had some tea, and still, he says he feels his body is determined to vomit today.

We thought perhaps it might be a stomach virus, but he hasn't vomited, is experiencing no diarrhea (sp?), achiness, or weakness. He has a very low-grade fever (99.3). The fact that something similar to this happened just a couple of weeks ago is what's worrying me the most. Could it be fatigue or nerves? Does it sound viral? We're very confused, and have no insurance, so we'd like to be certain its necessary before we go to a doctor.

Any ideas? Please help!

Hi there and welcome!

Your fiance could be having several different things going on. A virus and/or the flu may be one thing, your guess on nerves could be another. What kind of caught my attention is that both of the meals he had eaten (noodles and pizza) sounds and are very greasy..So, he could be in the beginnings of gallbladder problems as well?! If it is his gallbladder, watch for dark (black or green) stools and pain in the upper abdomine. (just under the rib cage and to the right) this is where the gallbladder is located. It is hidden just partially under the liver as well. Greasy foods will definetly cause him a problem if it is that. I would do some searches on google, type in his symptoms and see what kind of "hits" you get. If this persists, he should definetly see a doctor! Hope this helps and good luck.

I was thinking gallbladder, too... Best of luck to him (and you).
