Ok so I thought I had a yeast infection. The itching has been driving me crrraaaazzzzyyyy for the past few weeks.. So I got some cream. Well it's not worked.. And instead I think maybe the itching is due to the amount I shave down there. I did it every few days until recently, and I think maybe that's what caused me to itch so much.

Has anyone found shaving has irritated their skin more during pregnancy? It was never this bad before, and it's making me miserable. I've stopped shaving to see if this will help.. But I dunno.

I know I should just go see the doctor, but to tell you the truth, i'm really embarrassed to. I wouldn't even be able to tell my mum.. She wouldn't approve of me shaving for a start (she thinks it's stupid and unnecessary).. And my parents have brought me up in a very old fashioned way of "if it's a personal matter we don't discuss it". I'm gunna make damn sure i'm .N.E.V.E.R like that with my daughter!

Just advise your mom that you are having a personal problem and that you think that it would be best that you go and see your doctor. Insist that you need to go to figure out what's going on and tell her that its an issue that you dont' feel comfortable talkiign to her about it and that you would rather see a doc about it

I had to stop shaving at the very end of my pregnancy because, well, I couldn't reach everything anymore! And .I'm sorry, but I didn't trust my husband with a razor anywhere near my sensitive bits. I thought it would look weird to my doctor during exams if some bits were shaved and others weren't, so I let it all grow.

And holy hell, that .S.U.C.K.E.D!

Ingrown hairs are .N.O.T fun! Sad

but no, shaving itself didn't irritate my bits during pregnancy. The hair growing back did! Wink

I wouldn't think shaving would do it... Not unless you think you have razor burn in your vagina. Wink why would your mom find out about you shaving from you having a yeast infection? My mom is never in the room at my gynelogical exams, and I don't think they note it on your chart (or at least, I didn't get the impression that they did), so it's not like she'd really find out.

I meant i'd have to tell her that I think the itching is caused by shaving, because I don't think it's an infection anymore.. I got some cream that's meant to clear up yeast infections and it didn't work.

I decided to let it all grow back coz when i'm giving birth and having my bits examined (that hasn't happened once yet) I don't want it to be a mess down there.

I've never had a gynaecological exam before.. I'm hardly looking forward to it Laughing

honestly, that stuff doesn't really clear up yeast infections. You have to buy the stuff that has an applicator with it and you use a suppoitory for 3-7 days and use the cream to stop the itching.I think you should go see a doctor. He can advise you better on what to do.Be careful cause a yeast infection can get passed to your child.

Yeast infections are so common in pregnancy and any time the ph level of your *ahem* area changes. For some women even sex or their monthly cycle can bring them on.

Since we are all girls here, you would know if it is a yeast infection because the moist areas of the vagina would be the parts itching. If it is a shaving issue, the skin would itch where the hair grows. They would be two different issues.

Yuumm ingi!! Lol....

She's right. What you're experiencing is probably razor burn. Which basically drives you **insane** during the hair growth process!!

I would **try** not to itch it, because it can lead to ingrown hairs, which can lead to boils...And we don't want that down there! Lol..

I hope your .Cuda feels better soon!!!

When I get pregnant, I got one of those hair trimmers and would sit "spread eagle" on my bed infront of our mirror and just *trim* it. It would be practically to the skin, but it wasn't bald and it didn't cause me to itch!

I had my man shave my legs, cuz I couldn't do that at like 4/5 months!! He was sooooo nervous though!! But he did a great job every time!!

ahh ok.. I'm guessing it's more likely to be a yeast infection then.. Maybe the fact that the hair is growing back is just adding to the irritation down there Sad

i'll mention it to my midwife when I see her, she might be able to examine me herself without sending me to the doctor.

Thanks ladies, I appreciate your help! Mr. Green

There's a lot of girls here who shave their woo woos!!! I mean, I trim mine to keep it neat and shave at the sides but doesn't it end up looking like a plucked chicken if you shave it bald? Mr. Green

i'm not saying I think either way is 'best' by the way! Just curious...

And not in a dirty way Laughing

Lmao, a peach!

I hate body hair. Always have. The only hair I want on my body is my head-hair and my eyebrows!

Yeah i've just been researching brazilian waxing.. For future reference when I can actually afford to get it done regularly! So far i'm liking the idea of it better than shaving.. Except having to get into weird positions for a complete stranger Laughing

Well the position is not that bad.You just bend your leg and put it to the side so they can wax and so the same with the other leg, laying down the whole time. And you don't exactly have to let them see your hoohoo ingi! Lol you can wear underwear or thy give you a pair of disposable ones. Its not too bad.The first time sucked but after that it gets better! In fact I have an appointment today!

i had the exact same problem. I did ask my doc and I got examined and she told me it could be what im shaving with or washing with. Come to find out it was!! So now im using ivory soap and not shaving unless its with my eletric razor and it hasnt done it anymore Smile I guess it cuz of the sensitive skin down there

I've tried to do brazilian waxing on myself... Way too painful! I suppose once i'm married (assuming my husband likes hairlessness, of course), i'll start paying to have it done. I'm thinking it wouldn't hurt so badly after the first three or four times, and then I could do it myself.
