I was wondering how much physical damage it can take to harm someone while theyre pregant, today wasnt a good day, someone fell on my gf and she got hit with a basketball, we suspect shes only about 3 weeks pregnant but I wanna know the potential threat it can pose for her and our unborn child.

Both hits were to her stomach also and they were pretty bad..Considering its been less then a month is there a real threat?

It could go either way, depending on what part of the stomach got hit. The best thing I can advise you to do is get her to see a doctor as soon as possible, or at least to call her pcp/ob-gyn (during normal office hours if they'll charge a fee for after-hours calls) and tell them exactly what happened, how much pain she was in, where exactly she got hit-- basically anything the doctor asks about. I've found that a lot of times a call to my gynecologist's office can relieve just about any fear I have. Or they'll tell me to come in, and then I know they've got me taken care of. Either way, a phone call at the very least would probably be for the best.

Best of luck to both of you.

She's probably fine. The baby is still down in her pelvic cavity so it's very well protected.

Also, she must be more than 3 weeks. Most people are about 4 weeks when they find out. You start counting from the first day of your last period even though you don't conceive until later. So find out when her last period was and add up the weeks.

She should be fine...The baby is super well protected (amniotic fluid & the baby is super low). But like everyone else has said, get her to a doctor.

Even if the baby itself is okay, there's a faint possibility she might have internal injuries or something. And of course, that would affect the baby almost as much as actually getting hit.

Get her to a doctor! ;)

When you're pregnant, you don't just see a doctor when you think something might be wrong. Every pregnant woman .N.E.E.D.S prenatal care. Make your girlfriend take another pregnancy test, and if it's positive, .D.E.M.A.N.D that she go see one. She needs to have bloodwork drawn up and she needs to start taking prenatal vitamins immediately. These first few weeks are so important for the baby's development. I know she might be nervous about seeing a doctor, but don't let her keep putting this off. This is your child we're talking about, and he/she deserves proper care. She really should have seen a doctor as soon as she got that first positive test. Make her go. Please.
