I had my gallbladder removed almost a year ago. I have had severe and extremely painful(lower abdomen cramps) diareah(sp?). I have it almost daily..Sometimes I go 7 to 8 times a day. I don't eat out..I don't eat any greasy/oily foods and I try to eat as healthy as possible. I tried eating smaller meals and I have been taking fiber supplements. Nothing seems to relieve it. My doctor isn't any help and she just tells me to eat smaller meals and that is the only thing that may help. I know that's not true. Could someone give me advise on what may help and what someone has tried that works.

I was also wondering if excessive diareah may cause hemroids. I feel something there now and it itches and it burns when I go to the bathroom. Is there any relief for hemroids that would help with the diareah as well?

Thank you in advance for you help,
michele

Extremely eHealthy
I am sorry to here of your problems after your galbladder surgery, I had the same problems, I am not a dr but I myself would be a little bit leary of fiber as it can make you go more, have you ever heard of an anti-diahreal medication or like pepto-bismol, you might want to talk to your pharmacist and see what he can suggest over the counter, the main thing is is that you don't want to get yourself de-hydrated. Now I am just the opposite because I have to take pain meds and they can stop you from going, yes, I would talk to the pharmacist and possibly get a second opinion and maybe get a colonoscopy.
Good luck!

i had this problem for about 6 months,i tried eating healthy food and nothing seemed to work,i had mine done 11 months ago but I have diverticulitis and colitis too so mine could've been linked with this,on my worst days I used to try having dry foods nothing greasy or heavy, and also I used to try havibg something like diocalm, unfortunately doctors aren't always sympathetic to our needs, and it is horrible to have to go through this dailybut you may get help if you look at other sources, a friend of mine got some supplements from a health shop,i can't remember what it's called but if you go in and speak to someone in thee they may be able to help you out, mine stopped suddenly and I thought it was great but unfortunately for me it was because I had an underactive thyroid which ccauses the opposite effect,
