My mother had ischemic colitis (significant bloody diarrhea) in 1985 resulting in 18 inch section of colon removed. Wbc elevated at the time with unremarkable ct, mri, arteriogram and all other lab tests wnl.
Since that time she has had 10-12 reoccurances of bloody diarrhea..Rushed to er and admitted. All tests wnl with slight sedrate elevation each time.
She has seen gastoenterologists, cardiologists, rheumatologists......You name it with no eitology confirmed.
Today marked the latest episode and she had an immediate unremarkable ct scan on arrival at the er with labs wnl. She also had 1st episode of allergic reaction to the dye used in ct scan. (usually the ct is not done for a couple of days after admission) this time it was done whie sx were active.
Are the physicians missing something right unde their nose?
I have researched and found links to autoimmune disorders, mesenteric artery stenosis, etc.
Can anyone help. We are in despair......

I know you wrote this a long time ago, but I've been unsuccessful in finding forums for ischemic colitis which I have just been diagnosed with. Have you found any help and are you aware of any forums or chat rooms where I can talk to other people with this disease? Thank you Kathie
