What does this mean?

-- t1/t2 -- subtle concentric disc bulge that effaces the thecal sac and encroaches upon the left neural foramen

-- t3/t4 -- broad-based disc protrusion that effaces the spinal cord, 3.1 mm

Ask Your Doctor
The person who made that diagnosis must be the one to explain don“t you think?

Unfortunately we, as lay-persons, often do not understand a word the doctors say but it sounds impressive.

In laymens terms it means that there is an intervertebral disk herniation (disk buldge) in you upper thoracic spine (upper back just below the neck)
this diagnosis must not be the cause of possible associated problems and is certainly not a guarantee that it requires surgery!

The person should get a second opinion and do research on alternative methods for a wider picture.

A more detailed long distance diagnosis is not possible here so if you wish that do not hestitate to contact me private.

Blessings

Be Careful Liononline!
Thomas ~

I just wanted to say what liononline posted is most likely a results of a the mri or test they had done and most often the tech or the doctor who read the test will not explain the results. Lion's doctor may or may not explain the results either in detail or in terms a layperson will understand.

I belong to several support boards and it is very common for members to post their tests results and as that others explain what it means. To be honest many of us who have dealt with spine problems do know what the results mean and can help others understand what it means.

Yes, I agree everyone should get more then one opinion and do research and I feel that is what lion is doing.

I am concerned about this line in your reply:

a more detailed long distance diagnosis is not possible here so if you wish that do not hestitate to contact me private.

#1 the reason is because lion didn't post mush other then to ask what the results mean for one.

#2 just to remind you that I don't think you should say you can give lion a diagnosis with out seeing him/her. A diagnosis can not be made period via the computer. You actually need to see the person.

#3 I question why you are posting on a online support board? What is your goal or angle to posting on a board? Do you have something to sell????

Now for liononline ~

please be very careful with this thomas person and do not give out any of your private information!!!!!!! Please look where thomas zudrell is located and check the links he posted on other threads before giving any information about yourself out!!!

Whoa.

Thank you, thomas, for your attention and your offer.

Imshirl, thank you for your concern and advice. I'm new to support boards and don't know a lot about them.

Anyhoo . . . What do my mri's mean? Imshirl, you're right, the doctor hasn't explained much at all.

Clarification Please
Just to clarify things,
i do not sell anything using this board but rather want to give support to people.
I do not and never will do a long distance diagnosis that is what I wanted to say and yes this can only be done by seeing a patient.
Nevertheless I am willing to explain certain things to people who ask me without seeing them in person and this is not associated with any products or services of mine it will always be as neutral as it can be and for free!
My life is an open book because there is nothing to hide and it is on the net so everybody can check me out freely. Some talk to me, some good, some bad, some not, that is life. I am someone who looks for constructive critic and communication.
Thanks for all your concerns.
