I was just wondering if u have the option to go for a c-section versus a vaginal birth if its what u prefer?? Not that its for me im just curious. I know they only do it when absolutely needed but do u really have the option to choose on ur own? ~ erica.

to My Knowledge....
As far as I know you can't choose a c-section. Usually it's the doctors last resource. C-sections are usually given if the baby is too big, can't get the baby out in time like its taking too long, if the mom has a medical condition that prevents natural child birth, etc... I hear that most doctors dont like to do c-sections unless its necessary but some places might be diffrent. Hope this helps :d

I dont know wot its like in the states where u are all from but im from australia and where I live they do give u the option, u can book in close to ur due date and they will give u a ceasar if ur "scared" about natural child birth. They will also give a ceasar if the mother is having difficulty or the baby is in trouble or the usual reasons.

No you dont have the option unless you've already had a c-section before. The doctor's told me with my first pregnancy that they were almost positive I couldnt have a baby natural but that I had to try because insurence wouldn't cover it unless it was a must and c-sections run about 10,000.00 at least mine did!!

I have insurance so I am completley covered for everything. When my sis had her first son, all she told the doc was that she is so exausted so he asked her if she wanted a c-section and they went for it. So who knows. Thanks again! ~erica.
